Our favorite homes for sale in Northwest Hills (May 2017)

There's a lot to love about Northwest Hills. Here are our favorite homes for sale as of May 2017.

We’ve helped four families find homes in Northwest Hills since the beginning of 2017, and we continue to see the demand for homes in this area rise.  Recently I’ve been searching for some higher end homes in the neighborhood for a family moving to Austin from Chicago.  While my client hasn’t found the right home for them yet, I wanted to share my three favorite Northwest Hills homes for sale that are currently on listed on the market by other Austin Realtors.

The classic 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home located at 4209 GNARL DRIVE is the perfect family pad, and at 2,622 square feet there’s space for everyone in the family to call their own.   Located within walking distance of Doss Elementary and Murchison Middle School, this home has an enviable backyard with a covered patio and pool that is perfect for entertaining.  Located on one of my favorite interior streets in the neighborhood, the sense of community shared by residents of this street is one of the home’s main attractions.  Updated throughout, this property is offered for $847,500 by Christopher Bove of Keller Williams Realty.

I also really like 7203 RUNNING ROPE, which was beautifully remodeled by popular local architect Tim Cuppett.  The home is situated on a .25 acre lot with a large and useable backyard with playscape and covered patio.  The soft contemporary interior has 2,403 square feet of space that can be decorated in a variety of ways.   The updated kitchen with eat-in seating is definitely a standout.  In addition to four bedrooms, there is a mud room and flex space near the utility room.  This beautiful home is offered for sale at $775,000 by Joe and Cara Keenan of Realty Austin; this property is now under contract.

The stunning views make this one of our favorite homes for sale in Northwest Hills

My favorite of the bunch is 4305 FAR HILLS.  This mid-century home was designed by David Barrow Jr. back in the 1960s.  Situated on a spacious and private .37 acre lot, the light and bright interior includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms within its 2,633 square feet.  Multiple decks and patios are accessible throughout the home, further expanding the useable space.   The real draw, however, are the panoramic views of the hill country.  The expansive and flat lawn and pool are the perfect backdrop for watching the sun set over the hills.  This estate-like property is offered for sale at $990,000 by Dee Thomas and Robert Kaufman of Keller Williams Realty.  It went under contract its first weekend on the market.

We are currently working with four different buyers that want to live in Northwest Hills, but as these listings illustrate, good properties don’t last long in today’s market.  Indeed, two of these three properties went under contract after I did the initial search for my clients, and that leaves us looking for other homes that might work.  If you or anyone you know is considering selling their Northwest Hills home, please share this info and let them know that as a premier agent on Zillow, we have a steady volume of buyers interested in Northwest Hills properties.  We’d be happy to talk about market conditions over coffee at Biderman’s some morning.

And if you’re on the hunt for a house, we’d be happy to help you too.  If you’d like to see one of these properties or any other Northwest Hills listing, it would be our pleasure to give you a tour.  You can also go online to see all of the property photos and more at www.homesville.com; just enter the property address in the search bar.
